From terrace banter – to the goals, we love football at Woodbank, so when we had the opportunity to sponsor a table last Saturday for the Southport v Boreham Wood match, it was without a doubt a resounding YES!
This kind of day-trip not only allows us to enjoy “The Beautiful Game”, it also gives us the chance to support our local communities with our valued clients outside the office walls.
In the end, it was the hosts Southport who grabbed the vital victory with a 1-0 home win over Boreham Wood.

Despite the forecasts predicting a “paperless office” on the horizon, most organisations are still heavily reliant upon paper documents to perform core business functions. In fact, according to recent studies roughly 40% of all business processes still require hardcopy documents. To support the delay in digital documents completely replacing paper documents, paper producers are predicting a global downturn in demand of only 1-3% through 2020.
If you think your office is the only one with room for improvement, here are some recent industry stats and facts that highlight the inefficiencies happening in most offices right now.
- 90% of companies don’t know how many printers they have or how much they spend on print.
- The average life span of a printed document is less than 5 minutes.

Imagine a world where a children’s community group could not showcase the youngster’s wonderful creative work…
Indeed, it is difficult to think this, but without the basic office equipment The Greenhouse Multi-Cultural Play and Arts Project were not able to really highlight the children’s written and creative work to its fullest potential. So when we heard about the inspiring young people and staff who are doing fantastic things at The Greenhouse Project we were absolutely delighted to help them by donating one of our photocopier machines. The Greenhouse Multi-Cultural Play and Arts Project is a registered charity based in Toxteth, Liverpool, dedicated to helping children and young people in the surrounding community with a range of fun and educational activities in and out of school. Over the years, this project has grown as a result of the dynamic leadership of Debbie Wight and her committed team of staff and volunteers.
We at Woodbank were first introduced to The Greenhouse Project thanks to our connection with SAFE Regeneration, an organisation which has previously benefited from one of our photocopier donations. Seeing at first-hand how much charitable donations help not for profit groups, Brian Dawe Development Manager at SAFE Regeneration was keen to help The Greenhouse Project. He said: “It’s difficult for any charity to source funding for office equipment especially the service and maintenance costs. With Woodbank’s help, I hope it’s freed Debbie and her team with that burden. The Greenhouse Project is vital part of the children’s creative and learning process and I’m thrilled that they have benefited from the kind donation.”
Greenhouse’s Project Manager Debbie Wright said: “This will make a huge difference both in terms of what we are able to do and in improving the quality of our work; from producing information for funding applications to presenting displays of children’s work and evidence of their ‘learning journeys’. This kind gift is hugely appreciated by all at The Greenhouse Project.”
Woodbank’s Founding Director, Janet Bowden, said: “The opportunity to be able to help charities such as the SAFE Regeneration and The Greenhouse Project is an absolute privilege and we at Woodbank truly hope that they see significant benefits as a result of our donation.”
